A Missionary Vacation on Pioneer Day

Thursday, July 20, 1905.  2 Aglionby St.  Carlisle England.

The forenoon was spent in study.  At 1:30 we took Elder Riches down to the train and seen him off for Shields.  Returning to the Lodge, we were busy studying when Bro. George G. Campbell called to see us before leaving for Scotland, he being from that place on a visit.He was with us about two hours then left for home. In the evening, we went tracting.  We finished tracting at 9 P.M. and came home.

Friday, July 21, 1905.  2 Aglionby St.  Carlisle.

The forenoon was spent in study.  In the afternoon, we went to Newtown to do some tracting.  Before beginning our tracting we called on Mrs. Nelson who is investigating the Gospel. Had a nice talk with her and her two sisters.  After which we went tracting, met much cold indifference.  We finished tracting and came home.

Saturday, July 22, 1905.  2 Aglionby St.  Carlisle.

Torday we went visiting our investigators, going first to a Mrs. Young.  Had a good conversation with her and another lady.  Then we went tot he Crawther home to visit some friends.  From there to Mr. Walker's thence home.  In the evening, we held two Street Meetings, one at the cross, and another at Princess St.  Both meetings were well attended.  After the meetings we went to Sister Atkinson's.  Had supper, then home.

Sunday, July 23, 1905.  2 Aglionby St.  Carlisle.

In the forenoon, made out our weekly reports.  Had dinner at 12 noon.  At 2:30 P.M. we went to Sunday School.  I presided.  After Sunday School, we went to Bro. Armstrong's and administered to his son Andrew.  Then we went to Sister Atkinson's for tea, retuning in the evening to services.  We had a nice meeting, quite a few strangers same.After our meeting, we went out on the street and held a meeting.  We had a fine crowd.  After the meeting, we went to Sister Atkinson's to spend the evening.

Monday, July 24, 1905.  2 Aglionby St.  Carlisle.

Today being the 24th, we took a vacation.  We spent the afternoon at Sister Atkinson's.  Our amusements were principally playing ball with the girls till our Nellie got hit in the eye which ended ball playing.  A fine supper was prepared which we partook of.  After which we had some music from our Hannah and Lilly on the Mandoline and guitar, also Elder Everrett on the harmonica.  We left Sister Atkinson's quite early in the evening and went to Upperby to visit Sister Lightfoot.  After spending the evening, we came home.
